I see many attributes in this book that pertain to some personality problems after having an emotionally and verbally degrading husband. I never told anyone for years about it and wouldn't even argue in front of the children. I am a highly Sensitive individual due to my severe abuse and abandonmentIssues. I wasn't self centered or argumentative at all. I found acceptance and forgiveness in the Lord, and was extremely
Stable and managed everything within my realm of the family terrific. It wasn't until years of negative comments, that made me feel unloved by my husband, a head on collision, hospitalization, and then more negative degrading comments, like I wasn't healing fast enough that I came to perceive that the person I adored, and promoted, catered to and loved, didn't love me, my brain went snap, I heard it in my head and felt it. I was never the same, I attached myself to anyone that felt safe, and seemed torn apart. ECT"s otherwise shock treatments, and lost everything. and many, many drugs, therapies, unethical
doctor"s and my vulnerability. I notice my feelings are so extreme a ny more. I say all this to say, I think there are too many "generalizations" in this book. We all fit somewhere in the diagnosing DSMV. Too many Therapist look at a cookie cutter experience and may not look at each individual as the unique person we are. I experienced this in my life when books like this gave an equation to solve what my husband and Therapist thought was what I thought. There was no listening, or responsible thinking of how I actually think, or how their actions made things worse. My case is mine. We each have a story. I may tell mine some day, but hope Dr."s, Therapist, and people trying to deal with an individual, or maybe themselves like me, will consider. The Golden rule, treat others the way you would like to be treated. Consider yourself and the other person, maybe there is a lot more to the situation. I do appreciate the information here, and continue to study. Maybe by some miracle, I will understand and help other people do the same.

Borderline Personality Disorder Understand the Mind of a Person with Borderline Personality Gerald Thorne 9781511443524 Books Reviews
It was a good read I never thought I would learn so much about myself and my mom in one book
The writing was very narrow minded, only had some basis of fact, and was filled with absolutes. Very disappointing. Will try elsewhere.
This book was a very good book for information.
Not the best written, but good if you want an overview of the disorder. Includes some analysis of potential brain chemistry causes of the disorder, which I really enjoyed. But if you have the disorder and are looking for self-help material, this won't do much except solidify the fact that you either have or don't have the disorder.
Where other books on BPD seem to spread doom and gloom, this one is updated to 2015 and actually offers some hope. Shirt book, so if course a lot is the same-old history and treatment regimen. But this is the first one to mention Omega-3 Fatty Acids as a possible help. This book goes just a little deeper than most
Dealing with a person with BDP is very challenging and this book will equip you with the right knowledge to help you understand their condition and if you are directly dealing with one, you'll know how to manage your relationship with that person. The author really knows what he is talking about, great read and very good info for all!
My profession allows me to meet with many diverse type clients and one of those clients had borderline personality disorder. Since I did not know anything about Borderline personality disorder I bought this book with many other books, and let me tell you this book is very good. This book gives you details of the disorder and tell you how to treat them. After reading this book my client became a very royal client of mine thanks to this book. If you have Borderline personality disorder, or know anyone who has one I highly recommend this book
